Why we choose to ride what we ride.

It depends on what you would call a chopper...

Back in time a chopper was built/chopped/bobbed (whatever additional mods done internally or external) by the owner. Customized to his heart's desire, every rider who has modified his chopper rides hard and proud. All modifications are made to create an individual identity while on the road - a certain "branding". Usually it starts with removing some unwanted parts and using acquired rare parts or maybe simply with a used Dresser..The customization is his and his alone. The alteration continues until the perfect ride is created. Of course, riding comfortably became of secondary concern.

"To each his own" - riding a chopper is about rebelling against every "standard". Every proud owner of a chopper understands this, from the smallest Honda Cruisers sometimes seen on our roads (and often mistaken as a Harley) to the largest Harley-Davidson model. I salute all who embodies this spirit of individualism, it is an evolving spirit and this gives me hope that guys and girls would all one day ride a chopper that sets them apart from the rest.

In Singapore of course, the tight road laws and LTA Officers (better known as Singapore Traffic Police) do keep a close watch on some of these mean riding choppers because it is their job to ask us to " Come back with me to Base." otherwise "Wait for a ticket."

Living this lifestyle is a conscious choice and we enjoy our own freedom, but of course we have many Roadbikers that hate us - Chopper riders. Some say we are trying to be like Nicholas Cage in Ghostriders or even like Marlboro Man. Mostly others would say " Those irritating noisy bikes!"

"LOUD PIPES SAVES LIVES" - Believe it!

There are plenty of motorcycle clubs in Singapore but it is the also the democracy of a country with zero tolerance for crime that encourages mutual respect for each other clubs.

I would love to grow the network of Choppers kakis, with the same passion of riding your own custom chopper and organise more rides inside or outside Singapore.

Peace!

Only Biker Bar in Singapore

After Hours Bars / Pubs Handle Bar

HB in short for Handlebar is located off Alexandra Road toward Pasir Panjang Road at No 1 Lock Road. It was previously a preserved Army Camp that was converted to Restaurants and Art Galleries. Bikers from HD to Sportbikes, even Scooters love this place as we all feel safe parking and leaving our bikes and be part of the Bikers Community. The food has good ratings even featured in www.hungrygowhere.com and it is a common hang out rendezvous for bikers, non bikers and especially Expats.

Handle Bar have been around for almost 12 Years and they are expanding another outlet in the North Side of Singapore at Sembawang.

On Weekends. You can wash your bikes at $16 ++. While you can enjoy a game of pool or the Weekly Special Menu or Chillout with the Rock Music and have ice cold beer.

The waiter and waitresses are always smiling, friendly and fast. If you're in Singapore, tell the Cabby Old Gillman Camp and its 10 mins away if you're coming from any hotels in Orchard Road.

Have fun..

P.S: HandleBar has banned taking pictures within the restaurant lately due to some reasons.
